Through Certification, the Catechetical Office identifies the Director or Coordinator of Religious Education as a significant member of the Archdiocesan Catechetical Leadership Community -- those people who put their competencies and skills at the service of the Catechetical Mission of the wider Church. Meeting to Begin Supervision Process
For Directors and Coordinators who have completed Basic Training Course and Catechetical Leadership Program

Oct. 19, 2007 - 9:30 to 3:00
Bethany Spirituality Center, Highland Mills, Orange County

This is the necessary first step in the one-to-two-year supervision process, an essential requirement for certification. The day will consist in an orientation to the purpose and content of the supervision process. Participants will complete the self-assessment upon which the entire supervision process is built. All those considering supervision should consult their Regional Catechetical Directors before registering.

The Wisdom Gathering
For Certified Directors and Coordinators of Religious Education

Nov. 9 to 11, 2008
Mt. Alvernia, Wappingers Falls, Dutchess County
5:00 p.m. Sunday to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday

The Wisdom Gathering is an overnight spiritual and communal experience. It is the primary annual event for all Certified Directors and Coordinators of Religious Education. See Wisdom Gathering page for arrival details and directions.

Certification Ceremony and Dinner
For Directors and Coordinators to be Certified

April 13, 2008
Bethany Retreat House, Highland Mills, Orange County
4:00 p.m.

At this ceremony, Certification will be awarded to those Directors and Coordinators of Religious Education who have fulfilled the requirements. Sr. Joan Curtin, CND - as Director of the Archdiocesan Catechetical Office - will grant the Certification. A dinner will follow the ceremony.
