If you cannot attend the entire day, come for the morning or the afternoon.
These days will give you an opportunity to rediscover the value and purpose of family catechesis parish ministry. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own ministry experiences with family catechesis as well as to learn about some new “best practices” that may help you enhance your efforts with the families in your parish community. These days will include time for prayer, reflection, group discussion and sharing among colleagues in ministry.
9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Rediscovering the Sacredness of Family Life
The Synod on the Family has refocused attention on the beauty and treasure of the Church’s
teaching on family. We will explore the church’s teaching on domestic church that roots marriage in vocation and vocation in Baptism. Participants will be given practical skills for developing ways to evangelize parents so that they are more equipped and inspired to be intentional about forming their children in faith.
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm – 3:30 pm: Partnering with Parents--Living in the In-Between of What is and What Should Be
The source of frustration for many catechetical leaders is the lack of parent participation in faith
formation. Join us as we consider insights and strategies for helping form our families. The call to new evangelization is central to helping our parents move from what is to what should be.
